Below are summaries of new Construction Manual Sections 4-25, 4-26, and 4

http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/construc/constmanual/ .

		 Section 4-25, "Aggregate Subbases"
Section 4-25, “Aggregate Subbases,” has no policy changes. It discusses
the increase in the amount of reclaimed materials used for aggregate
subbases from 50 percent to 100 percent and the deletion of provisions
for measuring and paying for aggregate subbases by weight.

Aggregate for Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 aggregate subbases must be clean and
any combination of broken stone, crushed gravel, natural rough surfaced
gravel, sand, processed reclaimed asphalt concrete, portland cement

		 Section 4-83, "Railings and Barriers"
Section 4-83, “Railings and Barriers,” has no policy changes.
Publications staff have edited it for plain language and format.

Railings and barriers are used to reduce the severity of
run-off-the-road accidents, to prevent out-of-control vehicles from
crossing the median, and to decelerate errant vehicles.
