Dear Subscriber,

We have posted Construction Procedure Directive 17-3, "Implementation of 6-Inch Traffic Lines and Discontinued Use of Nonreflective Pavement Markers," on our website:
http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/construc/CPDirectives/cpdindex.htm

This directive notifies resident engineers that a change order may be processed to discontinue the use of nonreflective pavement markers and implement 6-inch traffic lines. A table identifying 6-inch wide striping to replace existing pavement markers provides guidance, and a sample change order memorandum and change order, revised Standard Plans, and FHWA concurrence are included as attachments.
