We have posted Construction Procedure Directive 17-4, "Protection From Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica Training," on our website:
This directive announces new web-based training to educate construction staff about overexposure to respirable crystalline silica. The training provides information about health issues related to silica, the construction operations that expose employees to silica, and the methods to prevent overexposure. Construction staff need to complete this training before September 23, 2017 to comply with new federal and state standards. Guidelines for training frequency and the proper charge codes to use for training time are included.
